Sonasi Manu Po'uha "Pa"

Very few people enter your life and leave such a great impact on it. I have been blessed to have such people in mine. One of which, is Sonasi. July 2, 2009 at about 3 o'clock in the morning he left this life behind with a great legacy to be carried on by those who knew him. Pa, as he was known by his children and grandchildren, was a mountain of a man. I was blessed to be named after his daughter Salote. He always called me "Lalu" and would always call me over at family things and I'd sit on the floor beside him and he would just put his hand on my head. I knew I was loved even if it was never said, it was shown. When I was preparing to go on my mission, he told me to come to the temple and do a session with him. I attended a session at the Salt Lake temple with my mom and I thought that I missed the session he was attending because I did not see him. When the session began I heard his voice. It was a wonderful experience. After he invited me into one of the offices of the Salt Lake Temple and gave me fatherly counsel, as my father had already passed away. He told me that he raised his daughters to be smart with money, time and talents so as to bless other people. He spoke on how he raised them to survive a month on just $10.00. He raised them to be confident and told me that I should be advised in the same way. He proceeded by telling me that no one is prettier than me, no one is smarter than me and no one is better than me. Not to be prideful but to be confident in my self worth. He advised me to be humble and recognize to bless others because I am good and have been blessed with much. We hugged and he said, "I love you, Lalu." I went on my mission and returned home to be married in the temple. Few short years later I was no longer married. I felt as if I had let everyone down because my life hadn't occured as I had planned, or that I had dishonored my name. He treated me the same, as if nothing happened. He once again invited me to the temple, where I met him and did another session, after which he hugged me and said, "I wish I can be good like you, why you so good?" I cried, because I felt a closeness to all my Fathers at that moment. He encouraged me to keep on doing what I knew was right. I started dating and I saw him at the mala'e where he always sat next to his granddaughter Pauline's gravesite. He called me over and I sat on the gorund next to him and he asked, "how is your boyfriends?" I laughed and then I said, "His family doesn't like me, so we're not friends anymore." He looked at me as if he were so offended by what I just said, then he said "Lalu, everyone loves you. don't you know that? You are the best." I laughed and squeezed his hand. I love Pa. He will forever be remembered as a great blessing in my life! Ofa Atu Pa!

General Thought and Feelings!

I love my life and all that take or have taken part in my life. I have been truly blessed to know and get to know the most amazing people in the world. They are not amazing because they hold any type of position, except for the fact that they are truly good people. The other day I was talking with my mom and we were discussing the life of my siblings and how we all know each other so well. I was asked to describe each one in one word, it was a real time for reflection on my part, which I did and was able to come to the conclusion that I love them very much and I have been truly blessed. The highlight of my life now comes from my nieces and nephews. They bring me such joy, it's difficult to imagine my life before they were even around. I am also grateful for the companionship of friends. I've been lucky enough to get to know many new people that have impacted my life for good. The struggles of preparing for school, work and the social aspect of life helps me be mindful of the Lord's love for me!So, this is me and my babygirl! That's all...the end!

"Mothers"

When I realized that I'd be going to earth, it was finally my turn~
I began to doubt and worry because I would soon forget all I learned.
So I ran to my Father full of questions and wonder of how I would make it through~
He smiled wisely and sat me down and said, "Little one, here is my plan for you.
You need not worry about temporal things for my daughter is willing and ready~
My son also is there and soon you will see your transition will become quite steady.
There will be times you are discouraged, wanting to come back home~
But again, my daughter will be by your side no matter how far you may roam.
She will be the one who reminds you of Me and the worth that you have inside~
She will teach you about all that is good and why your bother went down and died.
She will be the one who cares for you through trial and triumph the same~
She will defend and protect you from all that may come and dishonor your name.
She will love you so much and willingly give up her life, if ever you would ask~
She will love you forever with no questions in mind, never mentioning your past.
I felt confident and strong, in knowing that there was someone waiting for me~
I stood and hugged Father and thanked him so much for the power I felt and could see.
I turned to ask Father, "What is her name?" So I don't mistake her for another~
With a twinkle in His eye, He said, "She is my daughter, but you child, will call her MOTHER."

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY EVERYONE!

WOW...Already February!

My nieces did a "tauolunga" for my mom when we had her tribute dinner. It was beautiful. I played "Rondo Alla Turca" and that was a mess...just kidding, it turned out. From oldest to youngest: The Vaisa's, Lulu gave a speech about mom's mission and all the good she saw in Tonga due to moms service there. The Niuputuivaha's, were in Hawaii but called and expressed theor love for mom and her service. The Kinikini's, Siope and family had tribute in video for moms work. The Alatini's, gave a speech and tribute to mom. The Tafisi's had their son's do the Maori "haka" and their girls were in the "tauolunga." The Kinikini's, had a video tribute featuring the vocal stylings of Tonga Kinikini, live! The Kinikini's, had their children sing "You Raise Me Up" and they all a handful of tulips and a book about my mom's pictures from her mission that they presented to her. The Malakai's showed video of their trip to Tonga and all the good that mom did out there. I did my Piano rendition of "Rondo Alla Turca" and the Tuaone's presented mom with an apple tree to be planted to signify a good seed brings for good fruit. It was a wonderful evening!




Okay, so I haven't been on here for a while and I'm to blame for that! My "New Year Resolutions" or still going strong and I am very happy about that. A lot has happened since my last post about my BIRTHDAY! Let's see...uhhh, okay, well Aguilera sent me a text about a week ago to let me know they are expecting..
I am now learning "Rondo Alla Turca" on the Piano...from scratch...so we'll see how that turns out... I know, I know...NERD ALERT! It's too present to my mama because she is finished with her mission and will be home March 31, 2009. So, anything for my mama!

Let's see what else has happened??? Taniela Fifita Kinikini was blessed on February 1, 2009. Number 6 of the Lini and Marie klan!

Amelia Lose Ngata went through the temple February 7, 2009. In preparation to her leaving for a full time mission on April 8, 2009 to the Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic Mission. Johnny Tukuafu also received his call to RD Kenasha Mission in AFRICA, French speaking!

Lome, Lini, Jeans and My Mama, Big Pete and BOJAY all had birthdays! My little sister Latai also turned 16 today, but had a SWEET 16 PARTY on Saturday and that was also OFF THE HOOK! Sione and Katie had a surprise party January 31 on the 32nd floor of the Wells Fargo building downtown...and THAT was off the hook!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ME!

Today is my birthday and I am...uhhhhh....yeah! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MEE! I have been greatly blessed throughout my life and for much I am very grateful. My new year resolutions have been effective thus far, but it is ONLY the 2nd week of January. HAHAHAHAHAAAAA. I have plenty more to post, but will wait til I get home to post other pictures and more insightful thoughts and feeling about turning the big...uhhhh...yeah!







~~~~SO, I officially have the BESTEST family in the world!~~~~

I mean, who really get's their very own surprise party as an adult???MEE, that's whoo!! WOOOOHOOO! I was COMPLETELY surprised. So Friday was just a regular day and on our family website it said that we would all meet up to go and eat at good ol' Chuck-A-Rama for my birthday. So, I went to work as usual and was just thinking that Chuck's would be cool and it's ALWAYS nice to be with family. So when my brother Siope called and asked me to pick little Leina from home, I agreed cause I was going to take flowers to my dad since it was his birthday too and my mom called while I was on my way to the mala'e and I said "Happy Birthday" to her too! We laughed and cried cause we decided "our life's is sucks" bahahahaha...it was just a great laughing session. Anywhoots, I pulled up to the house to get Leina and Deanna was just talking talking to me and I opened the door and the lights were off and at first I was scared...well, I guess that's the meaning of a "SURPRISE." It was great. They tied balloons to the ends of my hair and said nice things while they did so and I just really love my family. Not because they did this, but because they have ALWAYS been there for me to help lift and push me to be who I am. THEY ARE THE BESTEST!

This is the last picture of the Laie Temple I took on my way back from the beach! It's such a beautiful temple and I'm sure after the renovations it will be even more beautiful! The rest of my last day in Hawaii is listed below with the other pictures! Aloha Oe!

This was the morning I left. I had to take a picture of the roosters that woke me every morning. They just walk around like they are on a farm. It was kinda neat to see!
I woke up this morning and wanted to
get a picture of the trees outside too! So, I did. I realized I look fabulous in the morning...all I did was get up and brush my teeth and run out the door to take this picture cause it was going to





start raining! Then after we waited for the rain to stop we went to the beach and enjoyed a swim. It started to rain, but we stayed in the water anyway and had a BLAST!

Let me start off with, the fact that me and Aguilera have been friends since the mission. She is one of maybe 3 eternal friends that I have found in my lifetime. We met and from that first moment we became the bestest of friends. We've both gone our own ways and have done our own things but for some reason, no matter how much time passes or how far apart we are we ALWAYS pick up where we left off. She's been there for me through the toughest of times and I for her, so when she told me she was getting married, I was only all too happy for her and knew that I HAD to be there...no matter what! So I made plans to go and then she called me again and asked that I be her maid of honor...I know, I know, {tear...tear...sniff...sniff}. I helped with last minute things and tried my best to make her day special for her! I am so happy that she found Ka'ua, you can just tell that they complete each other! I am so proud of her and look forward to continuing our eternal friendship! Just a side note, everything that could go wrong did go wrong...it seemed as though the Devil himself was trying to stop this wedding from happening. It was interesting to see that as soon as the sealing was taking place everything else in the world seemed to stand still and EVERYTHING worked out after. They truly will raise a family to the Lord.

Christmas in Hawaii

This was my first Christmas in Hawaii! I woke up and was surprised to see that there was no snow on the ground...hahaha...I was being silly for my nieces and nephews sake! Then we went camping and I took this picture in the hazy evening at the campsite of me and Teina!

We went to town which took a little over an hour! I found out that the next to the stadium is a little town called Salt Lake...which I thought was noteworthy ...obviously! It was cool to see Salt Lake in the middle of Hawaii! Anywhoots...the other pictures were taken at the point in Laie...theeee MOST BEAUTIFUL place where Ocean meets land...it was beautiful!

What the??? am I doing!

I was posing for the camera and a bunch of tour busses came up to the point too. While I was minding my own business trying to take pictures, my sister noticed one of the tourist staring at me! I had no clue, I just kept taking more pictures...then he got a little too close for comfort and I noticed. She was laughing at me and told me to go out and talk to him....and I said 'no way' and ran into the durango...that's why I'm laughing my head off!

SO....here I am in the in ALOHA state!! I got in really late lastnight...at about 10:30 cause my flight was delayed in LA cause we were waiting for people from Nueva York to come on their flight and catch this flight!! My sister came to pick me up and it was great to see her and Tongamana and Teina. We drove back to Laie and it was beautiful even in the dark, it was cool and a little rainy but it was much better than Utah's COLD BLIZZARD WEATHER! I love the BEEHIVE state, but sometimes a little cold is too much cold! I love being in Hawaii with my sister and her kids! More pictures of my trip will be posted as I take them!
